La Masseria

LAMIOLA PICCOLA

La Masseria

The Masseria history  begins at the end of the 1500s, where the original nucleus consisted of the underground oil mill, the remains of which are still visible today in a magnificent context renovated respecting its antiquity and in a space made available for guests. A document dated 1613 certifies its existence with certainty in the 17th century, when Donna Argenta Petrarolo purchased it and transcribed the sale in the Registry of the Hypogean Oil Mills. This “jewel”, created in a natural cavity, was at the time the place where olives were processed and where animals were gathered before the Transhumance.
The structure evolved with changes made at the end of the nineteenth century, in the mid-twentieth century and in the early 2000s.
Today Masseria Lamiola Piccola extends over an area of approximately seven hectares of olive groves, orchards and gardens.
The building is partly the owners’ summer residence in which a welcoming Bed & Breakfast managed by them has been created.

Where is it

The Masseria is located just 14 km from the wonderful White City, Ostuni, and its characteristic historic centre.
The nearest town, just 2 km away, is Montalbano, a small hamlet of Fasano where some essential commercial businesses are located. One of the typical characteristics of the place is the presence of a dolmen, a megalithic monument and sacred place of the ancient populations who built it during the Eneolithic.
Immersed in the evocative rural landscape, between the green hills of Brindisi and the blue of the Adriatic Sea, it guarantees B&B guests a holiday of absolute relaxation.
The enchanting landscape that surrounds it invites you to take pleasant walks along the paths of the green Mediterranean scrub, the ideal place to come into contact with nature and enjoy a regenerating tourism experience, between the hinterland and the sea.
The beaches, sandy or rocky, are located just 8 km from the Masseria.
With short trips by car it is possible to reach and visit some of the most characteristic destinations in the area: Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Castellana Grotte, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and the most evocative villages of the Itria Valley.
The many restaurants in the area will allow you to discover and appreciate the pleasure of Apulian food and wine.
